Taupo Iron Kidz 2013

The weekend following our school triathlon is the Taupo Iron Kidz competition down at the lake front.
Students aged 8 and up can compete in the triathlon as an individual or as part of a team.
This year for the first time they was a new event called 'Splash and Dash' for the 5-7 yr olds.
As usual the weather was wonderful and we all had a great day. Whaea Donna, Mrs Allen and Tracey were there to support us and Broadlands School came third for number of students participating.

Broadlands School Triathlon

Every year we look forward to our own school triathlon, or duathlon for those who don't have a bike.
We start in the pool, the cycle around the field and finally run around the field. As we race across the finish line we hold our arms up triumphantly.

Year 2s finish.

Year 3s finish.

Year 4s finish.

Leg It

As part of the Bay of Plenty 'Go4it' sports programme we are having 6 weeks of sports activities called 'Leg It'.
Our photostory shows us practising balance in different ways. We play lots of games and it is great fun!

A Busy Few Weeks

We have been back at school for four weeks now and what a busy 4 weeks we have had!!

In Week 2 we had the Life Education bus come to school with Jude and Harold. 'Leg It' also started in Week 2.
In Week 3 we had our school triathlon/duathlon, followed by many students taking part in the Taupo Iron Kidz triathlon at the weekend. Then in week 4 we had our school swimming sports.
Enjoy our photostories.

Life Education with Harold. We learned about healthy food choices and the food pyramid. Harold told us how important it is to drink plenty of water and eat a balanced diet.

We all had a photo taken with Harold too.
